2009 Miss Merry Christmas crowned

On the evening of Thursday, November 19, one lucky little girl, Allison Anne Mire was crowned Miss Merry Christmas. Allison is the six-year old daughter of Tiger and Tricia Mire. She attends St. Michael School. Her hobbies include collecting Barbies, dancing and playing with friends.
The 44th annual event which was held at the Rice Festival Building in Crowley, began with a warm welcome by Rachel Koch. Koch is president of the Eta Kappa Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, who sponsor the pageant each year.
Koch then introduced the Master of Ceremonies for the evening, Jimmy Broussard who presented the 2008 Miss Merry Christmas, Summer Paige LeLeux.
Following an introduction of each of the 26 contestants, the crowd was entertained by Core Dance Center Dancers and the Redemptorist Bell Choir.
Contestants were then narrowed down to ten finalists, who included Mazie Ann Parker of South Crowley Elementary, Jayden Pauline Devillier of St. Michael Elementary, Lauren Ashlie Stewart of Redemptorist Elementary, Sullivan Reese Rue of St. Michael Elementary, Emily Grace Voisin of St. Michael Elementary, Alexis Nicole Dalfrey of St. Michael Elementary, Bailey Anne Sittig of St. Michael Elementary, Allison Anne Mire of St. Michael Elementary, and Anya Claire Cormier of Northside Christian School.
Following a second round of entertainment and one final promenade, Broussard then presented Miss Merry Christmas, Allison Mire and her court, Jadyn Devillier, first maid; Emily Voisin, second maid; Alexis Dalfrey, third maid, and Anya Cormier, fourth maid.
Other contestants of the contest were Kayla Shae Trahan of Egan Elementary, Laila Bryann Deville of Egan Elementary, Amanda Cecile Cormier of Redemptorist Catholic, Melise Maloz of Redemptorist Catholic, Maddie Foster of Redemptorist Catholic, Alaina Lynne Kibodeaux of Redemptorist Catholic, Lauren Ashlie Stewart of Redemptorist Catholic, Dixie Jo Guidry of Egan Elementary, Karley Elizabeth Campbell of South Crowley Elementary, Paige Alexis Vincent of Redemptorist Catholic, Tayelor Minix of Ross Elementary, Jayden Layn Morgan of Northside Christian School, Sierra Kae Primeaux of South Crowley Elementary, Brooke Signorelli of South Crowley Elementary, Rosemary Navarre of South Crowley Elementary, Alesha Johnson of Ross Elementary, and Tatum Comeaux of South Crowley Elementary.
Lynne Broussard, member of Beta Sigma Phi, made the closing remarks following a guest appearance by Santa Claus.
