A.P.C.A. ‘Get Fit’ exercise class sports their patriotic colors
Posted July 2nd, 2009
The “Get Fit” exercise class, sponsored by the Acadia Parish Council on Aging, has been showing their patriotism by wearing red shirts during their Friday classes for the past two years. The red shirts symbolize their support and appreciation for our troops who are fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. This class of 60+ year old ladies is full of fun. These spirited ladies don’t just sit in a chair and barely lift a foot or arm, these ladies rock and roll! Participates are, front row from left, Rosa Lee Landry, Lettie Martin, Ethyl Babineaux, Bonnie Gaspard, Sylvia Dischler, Margaret Young, Sarah Bercier, Norma Courts and Dot LeLeu; back row, Rose Millet, Millie Comeaux, Mary Simon, Sylvia Gaupet, Dixie LeLeu, Pat Standford, Jivian Milson, Betty Faulk, Lynn LeFleur, Helen Benoit, Lou Duhon and Margie Abshire, instructor. Those not present were Barbara Benoit, Mitzie Gardner, Barbara Geesey, Frankie Johnson, Rose Trouille, Alice Whiting, Cynthia Kratzer, Claire Beslin, Stella Hildreth, Inez Murff, Peggy Sandidge and Helen White. If anyone is interested in joining the group they can call Margie at 783-7788.
