CROWLEY –Cry Out America! A program was held at the United Methodist Church to unite Christians and to commemorate the terrorist attacks on 9/11. The program coordinator, April Fontenot, said that she “wanted to disprove the mentality that one person can’t make a difference. There are people that will join together to promote unity and change.”
In attendance were representatives from churches throughout the area including, Abundant Life Assembly, Northside Assembly of God, First Baptist Church, and Forest Park Church. The Crowley Fire department was also present with Fire Chief Jody Viattor leading the pledge of allegiance.
A moment of silence was observed in memory of all the lives lost both on September 11 and military personnel called into action there after. Fontenot asked that we especially, “remember those still suffering and unhealed from this tragedy.”
Throughout the assembly, musical selections including “God Bless America”, “America the beautiful” and “My Country ‘Tis of Thee” were provided by pianist Michelle Harris.
