On Friday, December 18 the CHS class of 1974 hosted a “pre-reunion” social at the LaQuinta Inn Banquet Room. Hospitality and good conversation were the highlights of the evening. Donnie Brackins went down memory lane by presenting pictures from the class of ‘74’s yearbook.
The event was attended by CHS class of 1974 alumni. The social allowed local and out of town alumni, in town for the event, to become reacquainted before the reunion. The uniting of classmates was memorable.
Those in attendance enjoyed gumbo and all the fixings prepared by classmate Cedric Williams. A special thanks goes out to hospitality greeters, Anthony and Geralyn Stevenson, for a job well done.
On Saturday, December 19, reunion night, a tribute was held in memory of deceased classmates. Pictures of the deceased classmates were arranged on a memorial table, those classmates are Kermit Williams, Floyd Bias, Billy Primeaux, Ray Martin, Richard Milson, Kenneth Joseph, Bobby Jackson and Veronica Sinclair.
The event featured Christmas decorations including Poinsettias with candles and a touch of silver and berries intermingled. A delicious meal was served throughout the evening including pork and beef jambalaya, green beans, green salad, dinner rolls and an array of beverages. The meal was prepared by Brenda Boutte.
