Ida Duhon Hargrave
CROWLEY - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. January, 26, 2010 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Ida Duhon Hargrave, 83, who died at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 2010 at the Southwind Nursing Home in Crowley.
Fr. Matthew Higginbotham will celebrate the funeral mass and the committal services in Lyons Point. Visitation was observed Monday from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. will resume Tuesday from 8 a.m. until service time.
Mrs. Hargrave was born September 10, 1926 in Kaplan to the late Tulbert and Zulma Landry Duhon. She was a lifelong member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, a member of Ladies Altar Society and a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxillary.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Vernice “Bon Rein” Hargrave of Crowley; one son, Calvin Hargrave and his wife Sheila of Longview, Texas; two daughters, Carolyn Ward and her husband Gerry of Lafayette and Marlene Robin and husband Tony of Lafayette; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Arthur and Howard Duhon; and three sisters Edmae Duhon, Ivey Bertrand and Estella Dartez.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons Nic Barber, Cory Hargrave, Erik Hargrave, Josh Kibodeaux, Marcus Ward, and Morgan Ward.
