Marguerite LeJeune Barremore
LAKE CHARLES – Marguerite “Peggy” LeJeune Barremore, 74, of Lake Charles died on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 in her residence.
Mrs. Barremore was born December 2, 1934 in Egan and was a graduate of Estherwood High School. She has lived in Lake Charles since 1975. Mrs. Barremore worked as a secretary for the Basic Studies Department at McNeese State University and later as the secretary for the vice-president of Academic Affairs at McNeese. She was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church in both Lake Charles and Estherwood, where she was a part of the Ladies Alter Society at both churches. She enjoyed reading and sewing.
Mrs. Barremore is survived by her husband Kelley Barremore of Lake Charles; sons, David Ahlgrim and wife Sheila of Moss Bluff and Larry Sullivan and wife Brenda of Waretown, NJ; daughter, Lyn Comeaux and husband Glenn of Lake Charles; stepson, Michael Barremore and wife Janet of Lake Charles; brother, Joseph LeJeune of Estherwood; sisters, June Hupp and husband Ross of Pass Christian, MS, Mary Thibodeaux of Egan, and Leona Mae Marceaux of Midland; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Martha LeJeune; brothers, Charles LeJeune, Phillip LeJeune, and Frederick LeJeune; and sisters, Nelda Trahan and Della King.
Her funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 4, 2009 at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Lake Charles. Father Bill Miller will officiate. Burial will follow at Estherwood Cemetery in Estherwood. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Friday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. with a scripture service and rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
