Melancon pays tribute to Wilson
CROWLEY – Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon stated that Dy. John Wilson, a veteran law enforcement officer with the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office died at his home Saturday evening after a battle with cancer.
According to Sheriff Melancon, Dy. Wilson began his law enforcement career at the Church Point Police Department later joining the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office. John devoted many years to the youth of the parish working as a Resource Officer in the Acadia Parish School system.
Melancon stated that Dy. Wilson loved serving people in his capacity as a law enforcement officer.
“John was well liked and respected and made a positive difference in every life he touched,” said Melancon. “Our deepest sympathies to the Wilson family.”
