Pios fall to Catholic High in soccer playoffs

Notre Dame's Jonathan Besse (8) scored two goals in the Pios' 4-2 playoff loss to Catholic High of New Iberia Saturday afternoon. Besse was the Pios scoring leader all season long, finishing the year with 22 goals.

NEW IBERIA – Notre Dame's soccer season came to an abrupt halt Saturday when they were defeated by district rival Catholic High of New Iberia, 4-2, in the opening round of the Division III playoffs.
Notre Dame led 1-0 at the half and 2-1 with 10:15 remaining in regulation before Catholic reeled off three unanswered goals down the stretch.
The Pios finished the season with a record of 9-4.
