Ruby Rae McFarland Lewis

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Ruby Rae McFarland Lewis, 94, who died Monday, January 25, 2010 at 5:15 a.m. in Rayne.
Mrs. Lewis was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, the Ladies Altar Society, Catholic Daughters, and Home Demonstration Club.
Fr. Matthew Higginbotham, Pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary, will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to service time. A rosary will be recited Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Iota.
Mrs. Lewis is survived by four nieces, Shirley R. McFarland of Rayne, Sue Lyons and her husband David of Crowley, Gail McFarland of Rayne and Bobbie M. Braun and her husband Dan of Waldron, Ark. and Rayne; numerous great nieces and nephews; one step-son, George Lewis and his wife Keitha of Lafayette; and two step-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Adams, Michael Adams, Kelly Adams, Aaron Adams, Stan Keys, Christopher Daigle.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Lyons, Dan Braun, J. D. Bertrand, Steven Romero, Jimmy Romero, Richard Romero, B. I. Moody, Buddy Moody, Jo Jo Gravot, Frank Gravot, Clyde Hodges, Larry Broussard, and Jack Nickel.
Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her husband, C. A. “Mac” Lewis; her parents, Frank and Amea Bertrand McFarland; one sister, Edna Mae M. John; and one brother, Francis M. McFarland.
The family wishes to thank Acadia/St. Landry Home Health-Church Point, Louisiana Hospice and Pallative Care, Dr. M. N. Katira, Dr. James McNally , Dr. Christopher Achee and her caregiver Dorothy Babineaux of Rayne.
