The Ville Platte City Council held a brief meeting Monday, September 29, to propose an ordinance that would secure 12 percent of the proposed millage (30 mills) for salaries of full-time civil service and non-civil service employees of the city.

New Tournoi royalty selected Saturday evening
The Jr. Miss, Teen and Louisiana Tournoi Pageant was held Saturday, September 27, at the Northside Civic Center. Three new lovely queens were crowned, and they will now proudly represent the Louisiana Tournoi Association throughout the State of Louisiana.
