To her surprise, Judge Trahan was awarded the Don E. Wydra Memorial Award during the 30th annual Louisiana Governor’s Conference on Juvenile Justice, which was held Wednesday, March 3 through Friday, March 5 in New Orleans.

People who park in the striped areas next to designated handicapped parking places - regardless of whether they are in handicapped marked vehicles - are parking illegally. The problem, according to Police Chief K.P. Gibson, is that they may not realize it.
