'From the Top' to audition young La. musicians
BATON ROUGE – NPR’s “From the Top” program and the LSU College of Music & Dramatic Arts invite young classical musicians – instrumental and vocal soloists and/or ensembles and composers – ages 8-18 to audition for national broadcasts of “From the Top.”
Swamp Stomp Festival to feature regional bands, promote Cajun culture
A musical celebration of south Louisiana culture
THIBODAUX – The entire region is invited to the second annual Louisiana Swamp Stomp Festival – a musical celebration of south Louisiana culture slated for Friday, March 12, through Sunday, March 14, at Nicholls State University.
Festival gates will open to the public at 3 p.m. Friday, March 12, in the parking lot adjacent to John L. Guidry Stadium. Admission is $10 per day or $25 for the weekend – and free for children 11 and under. Tickets will be available at the gate. The festival will kick off again on Saturday and Sunday at 11 a.m. with the same daily admission charge.
