APSO busy with November arrests

CROWLEY – Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon listed the following incidents:
On Monday, November 17 District Judge Glenn Everett sentenced 41 year old Robert Thibodeaux of Rayne to 20 years hard labor with no possibility of probation or parole for the December 30, 2007 domestic incident that occurred near Bosco.
On Thursday, November 13 Kizzy Wilson, 30, of Rayne was issued a citation for careless operation after the school bus she was driving went into a ditch on Carriere Road near Church Point.
Sheriff Melancon stated that 19 students were on board and no injuries were reported.
Officials with the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office have arrested Loretta Rachelle Richard, 28, of Gueydan and charged her with vehicular homicide, DWI first offense and careless operation with accident. Bond was set at $51,750.
According to Sheriff Melancon the arrest stems from an accident that occurred on October 19th near Airport Road. Chad Trahan of Horn Drive, Crowley died as a result of the accident.
On November 15, 2008 at approximately 9:00 p.m. Nicole Simon, 34 of Simmons Gully Road, Morse was arrested and charged with attempted manslaughter following a domestic incident that occurred at the residence.
According to Sheriff Melancon the victim was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and released.
Bond was set at $15,000.
