April busy month for Crowley Police

CROWLEY – Crowley Police remain busy as the month of April has come and gone quickly. “We have had a busy month as we have seen an increase in several categories” stated Chief of Police K.P. Gibson. “We have experienced a rash of vehicle burglaries in various parts of town and have seen an increase in the amount of disturbance we have handled” stated Gibson.
During the month of April, Crowley Police responded to 723 calls for service. Of these calls for service, 88 persons were arrested for violations of the law. Of the 88 arrest made, 13 were juvenile. This is an average of 1 arrest for every 8.2 calls officers responded to. Crowley Police also investigated 67 traffic accidents, which is slightly higher than normal.
Arrest during the month are as follows:
Twenty six arrested for outstanding warrants
Twenty three arrested for narcotics
Thirteen arrested for disturbances/domestic violence
Eleven arrested for theft/possession of stolen property
Five arrested for battery
Three arrested for traffic violations
Seven arrested for other ordinance violations
