Louisiana reportedly has about 400,000 to 500,000 households without broadband access, according to the state official in charge of broadband development.
The Personnel Committee of the Acadia Parish Police Jury will meet tonight.
The Acadia Parish Police Jury will contribute $3 million to toward the expansion of broadband Internet using American Rescue Plan Act funds.
An new ordinance regulating the installation of culverts along parish roads allows residents to contract with the police jury for the labor involved in the installation.
