Stoma, Dugas joined in holy matrimony

Couple exchanges vows at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Crowley

Ann Marie Stoma of Crowley and Beau Michael Dugas of Cankton were joined in holy matrimony at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Crowley on Saturday, Oct. 8.
Fr. Mikel Polson officiated the 6:30 p.m. nuptials.
The bride is the daughter of Richard and Lisa Stoma of Crowley. She is the granddaughter of Joe B. Stoma Jr. and the late Marie Gani Stoma of Crowley, and of the late Richard W. Quebodeaux Sr. and the late Merle Ozan, both of Bridge City, Texas.
The groom is the son of Aaron Dugas and Dayna Dugas, both of Cankton. His grandparents are the late Sonny and Mildred Dugas of Cankton and Hubert and Carol Francis of Morgan City.
Georgia Kate Dugas, daughter of the bride and groom, was escorted into the church by Brock Conques and held by her father while her mother walked down the aisle.
Entering the church on the arm of her father to the strains of “Trumpet Voluntary,” the bride was radiant in a gown of beaded Venice lace and  tulle. The delicate hand-beaded Italian lace bodice featured scalloped lace tank sleeves, while the tulle trumpet skirt cascaded down into a graceful chapel train.
For her headpiece Ann selected a mid-length veil with an embellished comb, and she carried a hand-tied bouquet of fresh white hydrangeas, white roses and white tea roses.
Victoria Stoma, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Serving as bridesmaids were Brittany Dugas and Taylor Mamer, sisters of the groom; Courtney Hebert, cousin of the groom; and Jill Luno, Bree Beard and Lesi Angelle, friends of the bride.
The bridal attendants were clad in long, one shoulder lace dresses in pale pink and carried hand-tied arrangements of white hydrangeas and white roses.
The mothers of the bride and groom, along with the grandmother of the groom, wore matching corsages of white hydrangeas.
Dane Istre, friend of the groom, served as best man. Standing as groomsmen were Ricky Stoma Jr. and Brad Stoma, brothers of the bride; Steve Mamer, brother-in-law of the groom; Chas Boudreaux, future brother-in-law of the groom; and Brandon Briscoe and Rusty Carriere, friends of the groom.
Ushers were Trevor Stoma, cousin of the bride, and Tyler Hernandez, cousin of the groom.
The groom’s attendants, along with the ushers, wore French blue suits with pale pink ties and pocket squares.
The fathers of the bride and groom, the groomsmen and the ushers all wore boutonnières of small white hydrangeas.
Tucker Hernandez, cousin of the groom, served as ring bearer.
Music for the ceremony was provided by organist Linda Kidd and vocalist Jodi Bollich.
Selected scriptures were read by Laura Rowe Ward, godmother of the bride, and Lisa Duay Rader, aunt of the groom.
Following the wedding, family and friends joined the newlywed couple for a reception at Le Grand Hall in Crowley, where guests enjoyed an evening of dancing and food served buffet-style.
The venue was beautifully decorated by the bride’s family in a rustic theme. Elegant arrangements of fresh hydrangeas and gladiolus were made by the bride’s aunt, Patricia Sinclair of Austin, Texas.
The bride’s cake was a four-tiered confection decorated with delicate white roses. It was made by Wanda Broussard of Lafayette, a relative of the groom.
The groom’s three-tiered chocolate ganache cake was decorated with white icing and topped with chocolate-covered strawberries.
On the evening prior to the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Dugas, Dayna Dugas and Brock Conques at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Cullen.
The bride is a 2009 graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish and is presently a stay-at-home mother.
The groom is a 2013 graduate of Beau Chene High School and is currently employed at Quality Fence.
The couple is making their home in Carencro.
