Date set for 16th Gumbo Cook-Off
The Acadia Parish Chamber of Commerce has announced that the 16th Gumbo Cook-Off has been scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 1, 2020.
The contest had been held in late October for many years.

Festival of Words to host oral history presentation
On Wednesday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m. the Festival of Words will host an oral history presentation by Sally Dauphine and a reading by award-winning Louisiana poet and essayist Sheryl St. Germain.
