LAFAYETTE - On Sunday, Feb. 12, the Crowley Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority celebrated Local Founders Day at Trinity C.M.E. Church in Lafayette where Elder/Pastor Maggie C. Banks serves as the pastor.
Special guests in attendance were members of the Lafayette Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., was founded on Jan. 13, 1913, on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C., by 22 collegiate women.
The sorority’s Five-Point Programmatic Thrust includes: Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness & Involvement, Physical and Mental Health and Political Awareness and Involvement.
Mrs. Sharon Bias Rawls is currently serving as the Crowley chapter’s president.
