Women United announces microgrant application launch

The United Way of Acadiana’s affinity group, Women United, announces the launch of their first microgrant application.

The main branch of the First National Bank of Louisiana located at 128 N. Parkerson Ave. was named first place winner in this year’s “Deck the Streets!” contest hosted by Crowley Main Street. On hand for the presentation of the award were, from left, Crowley Main Street Director Janie Morrison; First National Bank employees Bonnie Miller, Loretta Boudreaux, Neal Comeaux, Jada Simon, Sarah Finley and Taylor Broussard; and Deck the Streets Committee Chair Carla Lambousy.
Taking second prize in the Deck the Streets contest was Crowley City Hall. From left are City Hall employees McKenzie Schexnayder, Jackie Richard and Lisa Bruno; Crowley Main Street Director Janie Morrison; Deck the Streets Committee Chair Carla Lambousy; and Mayor Tim Monceaux. Third place went to The Balcony. Clint and Torrie Cradeur, from left, received the award from Morrison and Lambousy.
Taking Honorable Mention was Echelon Spa. Heidi Langford, center, was on hand to receive the award from Morrison and Lambousy.

Once again it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in downtown Crowley, and a lot of that is thanks in part to Crowley Main Street.

The Acadian Museum of Erath has been offered a grant by the Louisiana Folklife Program to present a series of workshops.

Rayne High’s monthly announcement of the school’s “Teacher and Students of the Month” was announced this week for the month of November for the 2021-2022 school year.
