CPD still short-staffed, promotions pending
CROWLEY - The Crowley Police Department is five officers short of full staff, by Chief Jimmy Broussard told the Public Safety Committee recently that two of the empty slots should be filled soon.
Main Street, City plan ‘Nightmare on Mill Street’
CROWLEY - The Crowley Main Street Program, in cooperation with the City of Crowley, will host “Nightmare on Mill Street” Monday, Oct. 31 — Halloween Night — from 5 to 7 p.m.

Local attorney Parker Mitchell, left, presided over his first cases as the parish’s new Administrative Law Judge Thursday afternoon. Mitchell’s primary jurisdiction will be code enforcement in the rural areas of the parish, including derelict buildings, code violations, etc. With him prior to the official opening of court are Ashley LeBlanc, center, director of the Acadia Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, whose office handles code enforcement; and Jade Boudreaux, permit supervisor.
