Two people, including a toddler, were taken to a local hospital Wednesday afternoon as a result of a crash just south of the John N. John Overpass on Louisiana Highway 13. According to witnesses, the silver Honda Accord (being loaded onto the wrecker) was traveling north at a high rate of speed when it crashed into another vehicle and became airborne. After it landed on the highway, striking the van at left, a man holding a small child in his arms emerged from the passenger’s side. Both were taken away by ambulance. Police said the toddler was admitted to the hospital in serious condition. No further updates were available.
