THE POST-SIGNAL / Steve Bandy
It seems there’s some type of construction going on all over Crowley these days. While trucks are hauling dirt to and from property at the corner of West Sixth Street and North Avenue F, a crew here works at a different site in the 2300 block of North Parkerson Avenue. This site was once occupied by a residence, which has been torn down to make room for an as-yet unnamed commercial endeavor.

A sign of growth

The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office Litter Abatement crew worked 34 days during the months of March, April and May, picking up litter throughout the parish. A total of 575 bags of trash was picked up along with many other items disposed of along parish roads, including 67 tires, a bedroom set, three couches, three box springs, two recliners, 12 pallets, five ice chests, a baby bed and a trampoline. The program is conducted in partnership with the Acadia Parish Police Jury.

Sadly, a never-ending job
