Locals qualify for College National Finals Rodeo

Waylon Bourgeois, of Church Point, and Isaac Richard, of Eunice, have qualified for the College National Finals Rodeo as members of McNeese State University men’s rodeo team.

Officers from the Crowley Police Department worked the scene of a two-vehicle accident that occurred shortly after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Avenue E and Second Street near Gail’s Gifts. The vehicles involved were an SUV, with male passengers, and a pickup truck, with one male passenger. The driver of the SUV was treated for chest pains at the scene by Acadian Ambulance, and the other drivers had only minor injuries. One of the northwest windows of Gail’s Gifts was demolished when the SUV struck the building after the vehicle collided with the pickup truck. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
