RAYNE - Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 24, 2020, at 11 a.m. at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church for Wennette Marie Williams.
Services will be conducted by Fr. Emanuel Awe.
Interment will be in Our Mother of Mercy Cemetery.
Wennette Marie Williams was born on February 26, 1962, to Rose Gibson Julian and O’Neal Williams Sr. She was called to her heavenly home on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020.
Wennette was baptized and a dedicated member of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church. She graduated from Rayne High School in 1981. “Peas”, as she was known by many, was employed by Macy’s and had recently retired after thirty-plus years of service in the retail industry. Her work ethic and commitment were highly regarded.
Wennette was a humble and easy-going person. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She was one of God’s servants who never complained because she believed that you should trust in the Lord with all your heart.
She leaves to cherish her memories a daughter, Brittany Harmon of Rayne; stepfather, Sylvester Julian of Rayne; brothers, Cyrus (Shalonda) Julian of Rayne, Dwayne Williams of Houston, Texas; sister, Gwendolyn Brown of Houston, Texas; aunts, Lillie Rubin of Port Arthur, Texas, Norma Jean Evans of Rayne, Verline Damond and Louanna Grant of Crowley; uncles, Warren (Annie Mae) Julian of Rayne, James (Bonnie) Julian, Charles (Mary Jane) Julian, Wilbert Williams of Houston, Texas, Hakeem Ali of Crowley and Irvin Williams of Oakland, California; a special friend, John Senegal of Lafayette; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rose Gibson Julian and O’Neal Williams Sr.; brothers, O’Neal Williams Jr., Brian Julian and Bryant Williams; her grandmothers, Eva Gibson and Louisiana Johnson; uncles, Murphy Gibson, Leroy Gibson, Mervin Gibson, Earl Gibson, Curtis Gibson, Irvin Gibson and Alton Williams; and aunt, Evelyn Johnson.
Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 24, at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church from 8 a.m. until time of service.
