Wolves, Ladies eye post-season play with district wins

The Lady Wolves completed district play with a 50-50 result, claiming a win over Northside but falling to Westgate.
In their 16-0 win over Northside, Karli Weber took the short three-inning win on the mound for the Lady Wolves. She recorded three strikeouts and allowed one hit.
The Rayne hits were scattered throughout the lineup and led by Madalyn Dupont and Peyton Richard each with two tags.
Slapping in RBIs for the Lady Wolves were Trinity Axtell, Savanna LaCombe, Madalyn Dupont, and two by Tori Arceneaux.
Rayne’s final district contest saw the Lady Wolves fall 5-7 in a tight game against Westgate High.
Rayne was led at the plate by Jessi Cary and Tori Arceneaux, each slapping two hits.
Completing the Rayne hits were Nae Francis, Trinity Axtell and Savanna LaCombe, each with a tag.
Touching the plate for the Lady Wolves were Francis, Axtell, LaCombe, Cary and Madalyn Dupont.
Dupont also held the mound for the Lady Wolves. She fanned one while walking three and allowing nine hits.

The Wolves claimed a 4-2 district win over Carencro, setting their district tally at 3-3 thus far.
A third inning rally pulled the Wolves ahead for the lead and never looked back.
Rayne’s Zach Fontenot tagged a homer and recorded two RBIs and a run for a productive day.
Alex Savoy and Tucket Wingate each connected for hits and RBI, while Demarcus James recorded a single while Darian Richard rang a triple.
Collecting the win on the mound for the Wolves was Colin LaCombe who threw seven strikeouts and allowed four hits in a complete seven-inning contest.
The Wolves fell to Carencro earlier in the week, but claimed a 9-3 win over Welsh.
Another third inning rally put the Wolves ahead where they stayed for the win.
Zach Fontenot and Tucker Babineaux recorded doubles on the day, each with two RBIs, while Darian Richard advanced three RBIs on two singles.
Julian Harvey picked up the win for the Wolves recording four strikeouts and a walk while on the mound for four and a third innings. Colin LaCombe saw two and two-thirds innings when he collected two strikeouts.
