CROWLEY – Acadiana Renaissance made a late push but it wasn’t enough Tuesday in their contest against the Northside Christian Lady Warriors.
The Eagles went on a 12-5 run over the final eight minutes but the Lady Warriors were able to escape with a 27-26 victory.
The Lady Warriors (6-3) took a slim 9-8 advantage into the half before distancing themselves in the third quarter with a 13-6 run.
The Eagles had their chances in the final frame but they went just 1-for-7 from the free throw line down the stretch.
The Lady Warriors used a balanced scoring attack to earn the victory with six players contributing points.
Mackenzie Credeur and Emily Abshire led the charge with nine and eight points, respectively.
Heaven Williams and Abbey Cart each added three points. Grace Cormier and Sei Guidry rounded out the offense with two points each.
Alisha Green and Laken Day paced the Eagles with 10 and six points, respectively.
In the nightcap, the Warriors went on a big run in the first quarter to take an 18-6 advantage and they never looked back in a 74-59 victory over the Eagles.
The Warriors (10-7) took a 31-18 lead into the break behind nine points from forward Caleb Hanks.
The Eagles inched a little closer in the third quarter by outscoring the hosts 24-22 to get within 11 at 53-42.
Carson Tweedel connected on three shots from long range in the fourth quarter to help the Warriors outscore the Eagles 21-17 over the final eight minutes.
Hanks and Tweedel led the Warriors with 17 and 16 points, respectively.
Joseph Woods followed with 12 points. Andrew Woods and Christian Myers also scored in double figures with 10 points each and Noah Woods finished with five.
Gage Daigle and Andy Wang each tallied two points in the victory.
Logan Braunstein led the Eagles with 14 points and Karon Gotch had 10.
The Warriors return to action on Friday when they play host to the Notre Dame Pioneers at 6 p.m.
