The Notre Dame Pios needed to be near perfect Tuesday in their season opener against perennial power St. Thomas More at Miller Stadium.
They were far from it.

For three quarters, the Midland Lady Rebels looked to be headed for a regional victory over league foe Lacassine Monday.
Kendall Miller didn’t exactly light it up from the perimeter Monday in Iota’s Class 3A regional tilt with Glen Oaks.
In fact, she was just 4-for-14 from the floor.
Nolan Theriot and his Notre Dame Lady Pios will take a victory any way they can get it.
And Monday, they got one the old-fashioned way: they earned it.
