‘Voices of Race in Portrait’ at ACA through Feb. 29

Saturday, Feb. 8, saw the opening of the exhibit “Voices of Race in Portrait,” presented by the organization Conversation Starters, at the Acadiana Center for the Arts.
The exhibition is free and open to the public.
“Voices” is an exhibit of portraits and interviews collected from across the region. Twenty subjects tell compelling stories about the role race has played in their lives to over a dozen trained facilitators/story collectors. Dozens of photographers throughout the region stepped forward to capture these subjects in portrait form, using their unique styles and approaches.
This project will be featured in AcA’s Coca-Cola Studio through Feb. 29 in honor of Black History Month.
The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
