Shadows’ Arts and Crafts Fair set for March 7

Enjoy the day with family and friends while supporting local artists, craftsmen, and the Shadows-on-the-Teche.
The Shadows’ Spring Arts and Crafts Fair will take place in the Shadows gardens on Saturday, March 7, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
More than 100 vendors from around Louisiana will display and sell their original work.
A variety of hand-crafted products will be available for sale, and just in time for Easter, family barbecues, and the beginning of spring.
Wooden yard games, children’s clothing, hair accessories and tasty treats make perfect basket fillers.
Original artwork will brighten up any room, and colorful yard ornaments will help you to ring in the spring after a crazy winter season.
For a shopping break, visit the new Kid Zone where children experience historic games and create a take home craft.
Admission to the fair is $5 for adults (12 and older) and $3 for children (ages 6-11) and includes a tour of the Shadows. Raffle tickets will be sold with all prizes donated by vendors. Food and dessert vendors will offer tempting choices.
The Shadows-on-the-Teche, a site of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, opened to the public in 1961 with the mission to preserve the buildings, landscape, collections and historical integrity of the site; to research and interpret through education programs a 19th century southern Louisiana plantation economy and community and their evolution; and to encourage an appreciation of and interest in historic preservation. The National Trust, which owns and operates the Shadows, is a private, non-profit organization. The Shadows does not receive funding from federal, state, parish, or city government. The site supports itself through admissions, special programs and events, and donations to the Friends of the Shadows.
For more information, contact the Shadows at (337) 369-6446 or or follow the event on Facebook. Any funds raised from this event will be used for the continued preservation and maintenance of the Shadows.
