Qualifying ends for Presidential Preference Primary Election

Qualifying for the State Central Committee and Parish Executive Committee for both the Democratic and Republican parties ended Friday with a number of seats remaining open.
The primary election will be held on April 4. Runoff, if any, will be on May 9.
Qualifying were:
Democratic State Central Committee
• 41st Representative District, Office A: Cinderella Ware Hayes of Eunice, Jean Menard of Church Point (one to be elected).
• 41st Representative District, Office B: Mark J. Guillory of Eunice (one to be elected).
• 42nd Representative District, Office A: Lessie Leblanc-Melancon of Scott (one to be elected).
• 42nd Representative District, Office B: Gene Malbrough of Church Point (one to be elected).
Democratic Parish Executive Committee
• At Large: Jean Menard of Church Point, Jerri Thompson of Crowley (five to be elected).
• District 7: Gene Malbrough of Church Point (one to be elected).
No one qualified in Districts 1 through 6 or in District 8.
Republican Parish Executive Committee
• At Large: Jeff Cavell of Crowley, Obie Hulin III of Rayne (five to be elected).
• District 2: Luke Dupré of Crowley (one to be elected).
• District 3: Steven Richard of Morse (one to be elected).
• District 8: Larry G. Miller of Iota (one to be elected).
No one qualified in District 1 or in Districts 4 through 7.
