Rep. John Stefanski was selected by the705 Young Leaders for a Better Acadiana and The Daily Advertiser as one of this year’s honorees of the 20 Under 40 Acadiana Leadership Awards.
The 20 Under 40 awards aim to honor Acadiana’s best and brightest who are under the age of 40. These honorees are chosen through their leadership skills and community service. They are young professionals who have demonstrated they have a clear vision and ability to lead their respective communities into the coming decades.
A lifelong Acadiana resident, Stefanski graduated from LSU and Loyola University Law of School. He is a strong believer in volunteering and has volunteered for his local church and coached youth baseball and basketball.
His biggest achievement to date is being elected as state Representative in 2016. He is currently serving on the Agriculture, Forestry, Aquaculture and Rural Development Committee, Natural Resources and Environment, Ways and Means, and Joint Legislative Committee on Capital Outlay.
“I enjoy helping people, both in my role as an attorney and as a state Representative,” Stefanski said. “My jobs put me in a unique position to be able to help people on an everyday basis.
“It is truly humbling to have the ability to represent your hometown at the Capital in Baton Rouge. I continue to strive every day to make sure that District 42 has the best representation possible.”
This year’s honorees were chosen by a selection committee comprised of influential Acadiana leaders, from a variety of industries and backgrounds.
