The Church Point Police Department, Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office, Louisiana State Police, the Church Point Volunteer Fire Department and several other area fire departments responded to a gas line leak at the intersection of La. Hwy. 35 & La. Hwy. 95 in Church Point yesterday. According to Mayor Ryan “Spanky” Meche, the line was hit by a boring crew working in the area. Due to safety concerns many business on the northwest side of town were evacuated.
