Rice fields across Acadia Parish have received plenty of sunshine during the last several weeks. The weather forecast for today calls for a return of excessive heat, with the high expected to reach 99 and the heat index expected to push 115. There is a less-than-10% chance of rain. The pattern of heat isn’t forecast to break until early next week with a chance of scattered showers possible on July 4th.
