On Saturday, Oct. 21, the International Rice Festival Mill Workers of the Year were recognized on the Supreme Rice Sound Stage on the courthouse circle.
In conjunction with the 81st International Rice Festival, the Crowley Garden Club sponsored a Door Decorating Contest with both business and residential categories.
Representing her hometown, Kathryn Shea Duncan of Crowley was crowned the 81st International Rice Festival Queen on Saturday morning.
The competition was fierce, but the judges worked hard to select the winners of this year's Rice and Creole Cookery Contest.
Colby Geerts of Evangeline, center, handily won this year's Rice Eating Contest with 41 scoops.
