THE POST-SIGNAL / Steve Bandy
Representatives of the Southern Eye Bank and the Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency were guests of the Crowley Lions Club Tuesday, speaking on the importance of cornea and organ donation. On hand for the meeting were, from left, Nancy Loewer, program chair; Joy Fragola, Southern Eye Bank; Suzanna Morton, LOPA; and Patti Lawrence, Lions Club president.
An estimated 114,000 people across the United States — about 2,000 of them in Louisiana —are currently awaiting life-saving organ donations. About 22 of them die every day.
