WEST DEANERY MASS HELD - The first event hosted at St. Joseph Catholic Church in observance of the “Year of St. Joseph” (Aug. 16, 2020 - May 1, 2021) was the West Deanery Mass held Thursday, Sept. 3, at 6 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Welcomed as celebrant was Bishop Douglas Deshotel, Diocese of Lafayette, (center) joined by local pastors. The Roman Catholic Church declared the coming year as the “Year of St. Joseph” as the Roman Catholic Church celebrates 150 years since the declaration of St. Joseph as the universal patron of the church by Pope Pius IX in his degree Quemadmodum Deus.
