New LSUE chancellor plans ‘listening tour’

LSUE’s fifth chancellor Dr. Nancee Sorenson, who, was introduced at a recent meet and greet at the Acadian Center, plans a series of listening sessions on and off campus.

Line crews were already out Sunday restoring electricity in areas of Acadia Parish. Sheriff K.P. Gibson estimated that between 2,000 and 3,000 parish residents experienced power outages as Hurricane Barry moved through the area.

The state began ramping down its emergency response activities Monday morning as most of Louisiana appears to have dodged a bullet from the storm that was briefly Hurricane Barry.
